Transfer Tunnel
No Cloud. No Accounts. Just Devices.

Private. Direct. Instant.

Send files, messages, and clipboard straight between your devices. End-to-end encrypted, peer-to-peer — nothing ever touches the cloud, and there is no account to create.

Transfer directly with devices connected to the same Wi-Fi.

Process

How It Works

01

Start a session

Open the sender and get a 6-character code and QR instantly.

02

Pair the devices

Scan the QR or type the code on the second device to connect.

03

Share away

Drop files, messages, and clipboard — encrypted, peer to peer.

Features

Everything you need to move data across the room.

One link or one code connects two devices. From there, share whatever you need without leaving the browser.

Unlimited File Size

Stream files of any size directly between devices over WebRTC.

Live Messaging

Chat alongside your transfer in real time.

Clipboard Sync

Copy on one device, paste on the other.

Any Device

Phone, tablet, or laptop — just open the browser.

Privacy by design

Your data goes straight to the other device.

A unique safety number is shown on both screens after pairing — match them to confirm no one is in the middle. Once you're done, the session is gone for good.

  • AES-256-GCM end-to-end encryption.
  • Direct WebRTC connection, device to device.
  • No servers in the data path, ever.
  • Sessions expire and self-destruct.
  • No sign-up, no logs, no tracking.
Under the hood

How the encryption works

Built on open web standards — WebRTC for direct connectivity and the Web Crypto API for end-to-end encryption. No proprietary black boxes.

Direct WebRTC connection

Your two browsers negotiate a direct WebRTC data channel. Our server only helps them find each other, then steps out of the way — the transfer itself never passes through it.

Ephemeral key exchange

Every session derives a fresh key with ECDH (P-256). Keys live only for that session and are never sent to a server, so past transfers stay private even if a device is later compromised.

Authenticated encryption

Each chunk is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, which both encrypts and verifies integrity. A matching safety number on both screens confirms there is no one in the middle.

Nothing stored

There is no file storage. The short pairing record used to connect is deleted the moment the two devices link up, and unused codes expire on their own.

Privacy

Private by default, not as an afterthought

Privacy isn't a setting you have to find — it's how the product works. We designed it so the sensitive parts of your transfer never reach us in the first place.

  • No account, email, or sign-up required.
  • Files and messages are never uploaded to or stored on our servers.
  • We can't read your transfers — they're encrypted end-to-end.
  • No advertising trackers and no selling of data.
  • Only minimal, short-lived connection metadata, deleted on connect.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know about how transfers, privacy, and security work.

Is Transfer Tunnel really free?
Yes. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or usage limits to sign up for. You open the app, share a code, and transfer.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files and messages travel directly between the two devices over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection. They are never uploaded to, or stored on our servers.
How is the transfer secured?
Each session establishes a fresh end-to-end encrypted channel using ECDH key exchange and AES-256-GCM. A matching safety number is shown on both screens so you can confirm no one is intercepting the connection.
What is the safety number for?
It is a short code derived from the encryption keys on both devices. If the numbers match on both screens, your connection is direct and free of a man-in-the-middle. If they differ, do not send anything and start a new session.
Is there a file size limit?
Yes. To ensure stability and optimal browser performance, each file is currently limited to 8388608 GB. Since transfers are peer-to-peer, there's no server storage limit, so you can send as many files as you like. We're actively working to support even larger file sizes in future updates.
Do both devices need to be online at the same time?
Yes. This is a live, direct connection, so both the sender and receiver must have the app open at the same time for the transfer to happen.
Which devices and browsers are supported?
Any modern browser on desktop or mobile that supports WebRTC, including recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. No app install is required.
What happens when I end a session?
The encrypted connection is torn down on both sides immediately and the temporary pairing record is deleted. Nothing about the transfer is retained.
