Privacy Policy
Version v1 · Effective July 2026
Transfer Tunnel is built privacy-first. This policy explains what limited data the service handles, why, and for how long. In plain terms: your files and messages travel directly between devices and are never stored on our servers.
The short version
- No account, sign-up, or login is required.
- Files and messages are end-to-end encrypted and sent peer-to-peer. They never pass through or get stored on our servers.
- We keep only the minimal connection metadata needed to introduce two devices, and it is deleted automatically once they connect.
- We do not sell data or use advertising trackers.
What we process, and why
Connection (signaling) metadata
To connect two devices, browsers must exchange a small amount of network handshake information (WebRTC session descriptions and ICE candidates) along with the short pairing code. This metadata is stored only transiently to broker the connection. It is automatically deleted the moment the two devices connect, and any unused record expires shortly afterward.
File and message content
We never receive your content. Once a connection is established, all files, messages, and clipboard data are transferred directly between the two devices over an encrypted channel. This content is not routed through, logged by, or stored on our infrastructure.
Operational and security data
Like any web service, our servers process technical request data (such as an IP address) transiently to deliver pages and to enforce rate limits that protect the service from abuse. This is used for security and reliability, not to profile you.
Anonymous product analytics
To understand whether the product works well, we may collect anonymous, aggregate usage events (for example, that a session started or completed successfully). These events never include file names, message contents, pairing codes, or other identifiers that could reveal what you sent. Optional feedback you choose to submit is stored with anonymous technical context (such as browser and platform) and never includes your transferred content.
Local storage on your device
We store small preferences (such as your acceptance of these terms and your language choice) locally in your browser. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Data retention
- Signaling metadata: deleted on connect; unused records expire automatically.
- Content: never stored by us.
- Feedback: retained to improve the product; contains no transferred content.
Your choices
Because we do not hold your content or an account, there is no profile to access or delete. You can clear locally stored preferences at any time through your browser settings.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the version and effective date above and ask you to review the updated terms before continuing.
